Banana Bonda – Healthy Recipe for Kids

Ingredients

2 cups wholewheat flour 2 1/2 overripe bananas- mashed 3/4 cup jaggery 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 tsp baking soda 1 tbsp chopped nuts- cashews, almonds,raisins 1/2 tsp cardmom powder 1/4 tsp dry ginger powder 1 tbsp desiccated coconut A pinch of black pepper A pinch of carom seeds powder 1/2 tsp poppy seeds 1/2 tsp mixed melon seeds(char magaz) Water

Instructions

1. To melt the jaggery, put chopped jaggery In a pan and add very little flour water. This will avoid caramelizing. Cook on medium heat until dissolved. 2. In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Add the mashed banana and Pour the melted Jaggery over it. Whisk everything together. 3. Add some water to get a thick vada-like batter. 4. Heat oil in a kadhai. Wet both your palms with water so that it’s easier to handle the batter. 5. Slide the bondas one by one into the hot Kadhai like you would fry a vada, minus the hole. 6. Serve hot
