super easy
First Post’s much-revered web series ‘9 Months’ is up for Season 5, with Maria Goretti signing up to be the show’s host for a second time. Unlike the previous four seasons where there was face-to-face fact sharing with celebrities and experts, this season would be conducted online via video call due to the current ongoing situation. However, the show’s essence would not change. This time it would circle around caring for children in the lockdown situation with respect to keeping them occupied, the food they should eat, precautions for the household, sanitization, etc.
The core concept of the show revolves around kids and moms. It is a good reference point for new mothers who seek answers to crucial questions related to childcare, and some notable experts in this field provide these answers. There is also a lot of first-hand information to be gained from the experiences of celebrity mothers. The first four seasons were beautifully aligned to cover the life-cycle of child care.
The first season focuses on pregnancy and prenatal care. The second one touches upon post-partum and parenting new-born children. The third one revolves around toddler years and the fourth season circles around the developing years of children pre-school preteens. In a recent interview with Filmibeat, Maria Goretti shared her experience of doing the show and gave her take on parenting and managing kids during the pandemic period. When asked about how she is managing her kids during this lockdown, she said that it is easier for her now since her kids are grown up. She doesn’t advocate online classes because all efforts to keep kids offline have gone in vain due to the pandemic, and wishes for schools to re-open soon so that all kids could meet their friends, play sports, etc. Talking about coping with one’s spouse working from home and kids getting cranky with online classes, Maria says that she doesn’t try to overdo things and take up many things simultaneously; she does as much as she can and doesn’t pressurize herself, and thus keeps calm. On being asked if she had any tips for new moms, she quoted that every mom, parent, and child different from the other. One thing that helped her is setting a fixed time for going to sleep, preferably only after her kids went to sleep. That way, she got more time to do things for herself, like reading newspapers, sit and ultimately felt more relaxed. She had a schedule prepared for her kids when they were younger, which helped her during their formative years. She signed off advising moms to look after themselves so that they, in turn, can look after their families.
9 Months has been the talk of the internet town, especially amongst the motherhood fraternity, and has a unique take on some common phases of parenthood and childcare. It has grown in popularity since its inception and has become a one-stop-shop for all mothers in their journey of caring for their kids.
