This Garlic Crack Bread is EPIC! It’s basically a garlic bread, but so much more fun AND delicious! You can add Cheese to this bread and create a Cheesy yummy version of the same to make it melt in your mouth and you can’t go wrong. Guaranteed to be the most popular thing at any gathering you take it to! So let’s see how we can make it in no time at home this winter.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour (maida) 1 leveled tbsp yeast 1/2 cup milk 125 ml of water 1 tsp salt 1 leveled tbsp powdered white sugar 1 1/2 tbsp melted butter for the dough 4 tbsp softened butter for the garlic and herb spread. 1 tsp crushed fresh garlic 2 tbsp dried herbs- oregano, basil, parsley

Instructions

1 . Proof the yeast. Add 1 leveled tbsp of active dry yeast to 1/2 cup warm( not hot) milk. Add 1 tbsp powdered white sugar. Put this mixture aside for 5-10 mins or until you see froth on the surface. 2. Mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 tsp salt. Make a well in the middle and add t be yeast mixture to the well. Start kneading the dough. Gradually add 125 ml of water. You will get a sticky ball of dough within 4-5 mins. 3. Generously sprinkle flour over a clean working surface. Add some olive oil to your fingertips and palms and knead the dough for 10-12 minutes. Gradually, Keep adding the melted 1 1/2 tbsp butter in between. 4. Grease a bowl and put the dough ball in. Cover with a damp cloth or cling film. Put aside for 1.5 to 2 hours. 5. Meanwhile make the garlic and herb spread. Take a minimum of 4 tbsp softened butter. Add freshly grated garlic, dried oregano, parsley, basil, rosemary(optional). 6. Punch all the air out of the dough and let it rest again for 10 mins. 7. Grease a baking tin with olive oil. 8. Transfer the dough again to a floured surface. Using a rolling pin roll it in a rectangular or oval shape. Dust with more flour if still very sticky, but use it sparingly at this point. 9. Spread the garlic and herb spread on one side and roll it from one end as tightly as you can. 10. Cut the log very gently into 2 1/2 – 3” pieces. 11. Arrange in a greased tin. Brush with milk or leftover butter from the spread. Sprinkle some sesame seeds. 12. Preheat the oven and bake at 200 degrees if using milk and if using water to proof the yeast you can bake at 180 for 50 mins.
