Masaba Masaba: Our Verdict, Go for it!

It was about time that we saw Masaba Gupta on screen! She is finally here, and how! Masaba Masaba revolves around the fictionalized story of real-life mother-daughter duo Masaba Gupta and acting powerhouse, Neena Gupta. Along with the quirky duels of this mother-daughter duo, this series also revolves around the roller coaster fashion designing the life of Masaba, her divorce with her husband, which eventually leads to her landing at her mother’s doorstep again. Although this show touches upon some grave topics, it is perfectly balanced by bright colors and a chirpy atmosphere, making you feel joy. It has some star names playing pivotal roles like Pooja Bedi, Neil Bhoopalam, and star cameos from industry glitterati Farah Khan, Kiara Advani, Shibani Dandekar, and Gajraj Rao. But the real USP of the show for us is the effortless adaptation of the big screen by Masaba Gupta on her acting debut. We don’t know if its genes, but Masaba has taken to acting like a fish to water!

The Masaba Masaba series also highlights the authentic bond of a mother and a daughter – the relatable meddling by the mother, the passive-aggressive arguments, the independent streaks of two women; but yes, the mother’s worry, the strong shoulder for each other for a rainy day, and yes, the quintessential ‘maa ke haath ka khana’ Most importantly, it essays the ‘never say die’ spirit of Masaba, and her victory against society in her mostly ‘judged’ life.
