Successful author, entrepreneur, columnist, and mother of two, Mrs. Funnybones, aka Twinkle Khanna, is always active on social media displaying her quirky yet witty humor and humanitarian initiatives. She took one step forward and upward to fan the flame of her entrepreneurial and humanitarian calling and founded ‘Tweak India,’ a digital media platform for Indian women helping them seek excellent guidance on important life topics such as health, wellness, parenting, children, career, sustainable living and much more. She sought help from friends and relatives in her quest to finding food that was tasty but at the same time healthy. Her search led her to start a unique movement on Tweak India named #WhatsInYourDabba, which challenged fellow celebrities to display food that they carry in their everyday dabba, along with the recipe to share with the social media audience. The movement was extremely viral on social media. Many celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Malaika Arora, Sonali Bendre, Katrina Kaif, Sophie Choudry, Bhumi Pednekar, Tusshar Kapoor Rakulpreet Singh, Shikhar Dhawan took part in it. They shared pictures of their food from their dabbas, along with its detailed preparation techniques.

Recently, Twinkle Khanna went one more step forward on her ‘Dabba’ journey and transferred all the valuable recipes and vital health tips received from various celebrities from the online medium to the paper medium and wrote a book about this online culinary sensation. Aptly titled “What’s in Your Dabba,” she maintains that the book didn’t germinate from her love for food; on the contrary, she is not a foodie. Whether it is sharing recipes over social media or present on a table, she views food as a medium that connects people.

 

During this lockdown period, many mothers sought advice from their mothers and relatives on different food varieties to cook for their family. This book is an endeavor to help such mothers. The recipes mentioned in the book are not over the top or extravagant recipes but are easy to make everyday recipes that are sure to add novelty to one’s culinary stalemate. It makes for a visually delightful experience as well with pictures of the final dish and, of course, the images of our most beloved celebrities.
