My kid is 2 yrs old and doesn’t talk at all? My child doesn’t speak clearly. My little one hardly speaks. These are a few of the many problems which parents face these days for speech development in kids. So parents, what do you think the issue here is? When do we have to start talking to our little ones?

The answer is when they are in our tummy. Yes, you read it right; when our little one is in our tummy is the time you start talking to them.

•Make sure conversations don’t stop. •Touch your tummy and talk to the little one every time you can. Both parents should do that all the 9 months, Specially the father. Mother has the baby physically attached, but the father has to make sure the connection is made way before the child is out in this beautiful world.

Tips for Healthy Snacks for Kids

Let your kids have some fun with food; healthy eating need not be boring: Use healthy alternatives like olive oil to sauté and fry. Switch to whole grain for dishes such as multigrain pizza, millet cakes, or ragi dosa. Add seasonal fruits in sweet treats such as mango muffins, whole wheat pancakes with cherries, or make a delicious crumble. Substitute cheese and mayonnaise with homemade spreads like hung-curd and hummus.

•Once the child is born, the conversation rate should be more. Each member should talk to them while they are with the child. Make sure you are talking to them in the language which everyone talks at home daily. Their ears are very sharp, and that is how the speech gets developed with everything they hear. They will start with few words. The pronunciation will be incorrect for a few. Correct them while they are little, do not wait for them to grow. Conversing daily and in the language everyone talks make them confidant and early talking skill develops. •Children have 5 times more power to develop their speech skills than adults. This power has to be used in the right way. Once they are clear in one language which everyone is talking, they start talking in the other languages too, that may be a monologue at the start but gradually, it will be a two-way conversation.  •Screen time ‘Screen time’ is one reason which makes speech development slower in kids.. the brain doesn’t respond and does not get developed to talk and respond. My little Pehel started talking in words when she was 10 months old and sentences when she was 1 year 2 months. Today she is 2.5 years old and talks in her mother tongue, our national language, and tries to converse in English as well. And the best part is I was successful in keeping her away ( zero screen time) from the mobile phone. This was the most significant success I have achieved in my parenting. Pehel talks to me like my best friend for hours. Yes, everyone can achieve this with the simple guidelines given above.
